Jess’ practice is digital. Her work is about memory and loss, distance and abstraction. She is interested in sentimental, evocative objects such as her grandmother’s ring which is studied, scanned and photographed and then replicated and manipulated until a new ambiguous narrative forms, concealing the object’s true meaning and function.
Newly graduated from Winchester School of Art’s Fine Art course, Jess has continued working as a retail assistant at an eco-friendly store based in the Meon Valley. Upon graduating, she took advantage of the online artist opportunities that arose in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, getting involved in projects such as The Social Distance Art Project and The SHIM/Bachelors show. Currently Jess is working towards an exhibition titled Power To Us, due to be open in January 2021 at the Yellow Edge Gallery in Gosport.
