Svetlana makes immersive, disorientating, alien spray-foam installations and costumes; mythic representations of her world view. Inhabited by a creature that is neither human nor alien, real or imaginary, these glowing environments and tactile costumes bend the fragile boundaries of our perceived reality.
Since graduating from the Fine Art course at Solent University in 2017, Svetlana has also completed an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths University of London, graduating in 2020. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She was shortlisted for the Batsford Prize Award 2019 and 2017, the Visual Art Open Prize 2018, the Harvest Short Film Competition 2019 and and recently won second place in the Sunny Art Prize 2020. She has completed a residency and exhibited at Aspex gallery in Portsmouth and was shortlisted for the Platform Graduate Award in 2017. She has also completed residencies at Solent University and Space/Sticks Gallery in Fareham.
