Georgia Menear
The Pears
Associate artist
Georgia’s practice explores themes of identity, sexuality and ill-health. She is interested in colours and their associations – particularly pink, a colour that reoccurs in her work as both a symbol of oppression and liberation. A multidisciplinary artist, Georgia works across drawing, painting, photography and poetry.
“My films and photography document my mental health episodes, dealing with depression, social anxiety and generalised anxiety. Through the lens of black and white analogue, they reflect the complex emotions and struggles I experience with my existence, and bringing to light the harsh reality someone who has poor mental health deals with.”
