Sophie is an illustrator interested in pattern, mark-making and typography. She uses unconventional surfaces and materials in her work, such as clothing and household items, creating 3D sculptures from 2D designs. Recently, her work has explored ideas about grief and memory.
“Grief coat was intended to be a thank you letter to my grandparents for the lifetime of advice, memories and support, specifically my nans who passed around the beginning of my first year of University. It was my way of acknowledging the way I processed my own grief and what I took away from it.”
