Peach Melba

The Pain Business

RIPE Live: Peach Melba / The Pain Business was a launch event featuring a showcase of new works by local and emerging artists, plus a live DJ set and drinks at the Alfred Arcade and the Alfred Arms.

Audiences were able to explore Peach Melba, the RIPE exhibition at the Alfred Arcade. Peach Melba was a collaborative project that aimed to encourage artistic and professional development through a series of skills-sharing activities. The exhibition featured work by 2021 graduates from Solent University and Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton.

The Pain Business at the Hidden Wardrobe featured live art and new performances developed by RIPE alumni in collaboration with HA HA Gallery’s Liv Fontaine and actress William Joys.

The event also featured Covid Crossroads, a new exhibition by photographer Matthew Wardell which featured a collection of images exploring Southampton’s historic Northam Road, on display in the windows of the King Alfred Pub.
